Mystic Numbers

2.Two Fish. The Zodiac sign Pisces is always represented by two fish.
3.Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
4.{Earth, Air, Fire, Water.}
{North, South, East, West.}
Why there are four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John): Irenæus, who was the real founder of the cannon, and who spent his life in endeavoring to establish the Catholic Church and the Bible, determined this matter, and the church has followed him. Whatever reason he gives, therefore, for the present number of Gospels, will be the reason why we have that number. Fortunately he is very explicit on this point, and we know exactly what decided him. He said that there were four quarters of the earth, and four universal winds, and that animals were four-legged, or four-formed, and therefore there should be four Gospels. His words are: "It is not possible that the gospels can be either more or fewer in number than they are. For, since there are four quarters of the earth in which we live, and four universal winds, while the church is scattered throughout all the world, and the 'pillar and ground' of the church is the gospel and the spirit of life, it is fitting that she should have four pillars breathing out immortality on every side, and vivifying men afresh. . . . Therefore the gospels are in accord with these things. . . . For the living creatures are quadriform and the gospel is quadriform. . . . These things being so, all who destroy the form of the gospel are vain, unlearned, and also audacious; those (I mean) who represent the aspect of the gospel as being either more in number than as aforesaid, or, on the other hand, fewer."1
5.The five known planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn. (Uranus was discovered in 1781 and led to the discoveries of Neptune in 1846 and Pluto in 1930)
7.The 7 known heavenly bodies: Sun, moon, and the 5 planets visible with the naked eye: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn.
The "Seven Stars" refers to the Pleiades, a small cluster of seven stars. Job speaks of the Pleiades as exerting a "sweet influence," (Job 31:38 KJV) expressive of the balmy air of spring which accompanies the approach of the sun to the constellation Taurus and the "seven stars."
12.The twelve signs of the Zodiac. It is thought this is where the 12 tribes of Israel came from and also the 12 apostles of Jesus. Also known as 12 houses.

There are also 12 hours in the day and 12 hours in the night. The Egyptians divided the day into 12 hours and night into 12 hours. Day and Night are constantly struggling with each other. In the Summer Day is winning. In the Winter Night is winning.

Short stories containing the number 12 are likely to be about day and night. Longer stories containing the number 12, especially stories which include a resurrection, are likely to be about the year. The story of Jacob wrestling with Esau (Gen. 32:24-33:1) is a corrupted account of the Egyptian story between Horus and Set, which is a battle between the forces of day and night. The Odyssey By Homer, written 800 BCE, is likely a story about the Sun's annual journey through the Zodiac—The Hero, Odysseus, goes on a long journey. His main objective throughout the journey is to get back to where he started, which he eventually does. He meets back with Penelope and they have a feast. Penelope probably symbolizes Virgo the lady of harvest time. At the end Odysseus shoots an arrow through 12 axes, signifying the twelve months or zodiac houses of the year, and Odysseus is the only one who can do that, signifying the Sun is the only one who can make the journey along the ecliptic to bring about harvest time.

24.The 24 hours of the day. May also refer to the twenty-four ancient constellations of the upper hemisphere.
30.The Sun travels along the ecliptic about 1 degree per day. Each month the Sun travels along the ecliptic from one Zodiac house to the next. After traveling 30 degrees in 30 days the Sun moves to the next house. Hence the Sun leaves it's starting Zodiac sign, known as a "house", or "mansion", or "abode", to begin its ministry at "age 30". "In my Father's house there are many abodes;" (John 14:2). Twelve abodes, one for each month of the Zodiac.
40.Supposedly the number of days between the Spring Equinox and May 1'st "May Day", when we dance around the May Pole. A pole makes a good sundial. In order to insure your pole is standing straight upwards, you tie equal lengths of rope from the top of the pole to a circle on the ground. Then what to do with all these lengths of rope? Let's get the kids to dance around it holding the rope so the rope gets wrapped around the May Pole.

Forty is also supposedly the number of days between the Autumnal Equinox and October 31, "Halloween", when the theme is death, which is appropirate because the Sun is leaving us, figuratively dying.

The problem with these two theories is every time I count the days I don't come up with 40.

153.The Measure of the Fish.
